Family Photo Session Recap (aka Hot Mess)
Hey loves! Ok. So I really really want to get better about this blogging thing. I'm introducing a new weekly blog post called "Fabulous Facts"... essentially just an update as to what our crazy, but still fabulous, life is looking like. So here goes nothing!
We had our family photos taken today, by the amazing L. Martin! She was beyond patient, and I cannot wait to see how these lovelies turned out! With that being said the chaos ensued beforehand was nothing short of standard....
I decided to give Brooks a bath this am... well, I guess there's a reason we never do that because he straight up pooped in the tub. Ever tried to fish a turd out of bubble bath??? Yeah, let's play a little game of hide and go seek!
After the bath, and fishing excursion... I had to get myself ready. My poor makeup artist, who just recently had a nugget herself, accidentally left her kit at home :( I felt so awful, cause let's be real.... we have ALL been there!
Then we had the contractor for our water heater decided now was the best time to show up and check out our leak. I;m in the chair get glammed, and my husband is upstairs with the nugget. Just the best timing ever.
When the shoot finally started, Brooks was on his best, wait I meant to say WORST, worst behavior. At one point I said, "Ok, let's just do Chris and me" cause I was strong enough to hold the little rascal while he arched back all the way to the ceiling (don't you just love when they do that??). Well, while Chris and I were getting out photos done, my first born decided to knock over a glass candle stick holder. One of a kind... destroyed... forever. We moved locations, shortly after.
We changed outfits, and I spent the better half looking for my bra that was tucked under our bed.... curious to how it got there?? (hint hint: his name starts with B and ends with ROOKS)
All in all, I know the photos will turn out beautiful, cause Lauren was a SAINT and her work, in general, is nothing short of stunning!
TIP FOR MAMAS: Photographing families is SOOOOO much harder than weddings. So, as a thank you I made her a little gift :) Cause, let's be real, she deserved it!
ps the photos below took place after our session, cause my hair and makeup were on point... which never happens.... so I needed to document it before it was over :)
